It was black ties and
posh frocks all round as our team once again headed out to the biggest
awards ceremony of the Sheffield City Region, which took place on Thursday 7 December at Ponds Forge
International Sports Centre.
Now in its 16th year, the Sheffield Business Awards 2017 attracted entries from a record-breaking 150 individuals and organisations and welcomed more than 900 people on the night. Run by the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and promoted by the citys local paper, The Star, the awards recognise the success of businesses in the Sheffield region.
Presented by BBC Look North broadcaster Harry Gration, the evening comprised a drinks reception and three-course meal, with entertainment provided by comedian Jo Caulfield and live music from Got It Covered.
Following on from last year, we were proud to once again sponsor The Simm Engineering Group Large Business of the Year, which this year was won by SCX Ltd, suppliers of mechanical handling and lifting services.
Attending from Simm and PPS were Managing Director Gary Whitaker, who presented the award, along with Director Ian Harrison, Service Manager Andy Turner, Area Manager Alan Kerr, Sales Representative Richard McClurg, Office Administrator Mollie Maddocks and Service Coordinator Dave Collier.
