PPS announces its ‘Energy Saving Stars’ initiative

More and more companies are waking up to the value of reducing energy bills, both for environmental reasons and to save on running costs for their pneumatic equipment.

Small changes can make a big difference when it comes to energy efficiency, which is why PPS and our sister company, Sheffield-based Simm Engineering, are now championing our energy-saving customers through a new initiative.

What are Energy Saving Stars?

In January 2017, PPS and Simm launched the Energy Saving Stars project.

These are the companies who have worked with us to achieve significant energy savings, with all the associated benefits:

- lower energy bills

- reduced carbon footprint

- more efficient operation

- increased productivity

- meeting regulation targets

- fulfilling CSR obligations

- more secure future for the business

Company Certificate for Energy Efficiency

Customers will be presented with a certificate celebrating their achievement as our Energy Saving Stars.

This can be displayed in a prominent place, such as the reception area of the business, so that staff and customers can see the company’s green credentials and achievements.

Companies also have the option of being featured in a case study, to appear on our website and in our newsletters, as well as being used to inspire other companies to follow suit in their own energy efficiency endeavours.

End of year showcase

At the end of each year, we will do a showcase on the firm that has saved the most energy, championing their achievements.

Our first Energy Saving Star…

The first company to be crowned as one of our Energy Saving Stars is AESSEAL®.

An international business manufacturing mechanical seals, seal support systems and bearing protectors aimed at reducing maintenance costs and improving reliability for its own customers, AESSEAL® prides itself in seeking out energy-saving initiatives.

By installing new Atlas Copco Variable Speed Drive Plus (VSD+) air compressors and new pipework at its Rotherham and Bradford site, with further sites targeted for future upgrades, we have helped AESSEAL® save an estimated 25,130kg carbon and £14,864 per annum at the Rotherham site alone.

By implementing just a few changes – such as upgrading to Variable Speed Drive Plus (VSD+) air compressors and vacuum pumps – companies across Huddersfield, Leeds, Wakefield, Halifax, Bradford, and the wider West Yorkshire area have seen the energy efficiency of their compressed air systems improve significantly.
